FMA-Edward Elric-INKS by foolyguy FMA-Edward Elric-INKS by foolyguy
NOTE: This is a WIP, its just this took me already a couple days, for the pencils and inks (not to metion the tons of sketches before this) and it will still be a while before a complete color job is finished on this. So to make me art site a little less dead, I decided to submit the lineart.

I won't bother trying to explain who this is for those who never heard of Edward Elric before, or understand what FMA stands for.

Done on Bristol Paper, done with .7 mechanical pencils, inked with 01, 03, and 08 Microns

Full-Metal Alchemist is property of Square-Enix

Not bad. A real load of detail in it, gotta give you credit for that. The problem i see in it is the disproportioned body, chest and head too big and the robotic hand is too small. Other than that everything looks cool, i see you tried to make the enviroment like that of an abandoned building/palace/temple. The effects you are making for all look good except for the elecrticity on the centre of the spear that, in my opinion should spread and dissolve better on the edges. Last but not least: I havent seen enough FMA to be sure about this but shouldnt the mechanical leg be on the other side? correct me if im wrong.

mechanical right arm and left leg. Also I've come to realize some bits are dissporportional, but to be fair Ed's a dissporportional person already. Look at him >>> [link] His head is half the size of his body oO. So I dunno I know proportions are wrong here, but they were never really right in the first place.

As for the electric effect in the center of the spear, I agree looks icky, but Im gonna be playing with all effects digitally, so let's see it I can't fix that.

He is disproportioned alright, but that is because hes an anime character. Most of anime characters can be considered disproportioned or exagerated in their physical features but that helps to define their personality better.

How long did this take? It's very good as usual, but soemthing keeps bugging me about the proportions, they seem fine yet I can't help but think there's something with them. Maybe it's just me.

Its is quite confusing. Ed REALLY is a short person, but here it looks arkward. I dunno I proably have some things wrong, and some things right, and they just don't fit together.

Maybe, but it is a little tricky to get short people the right size, not hard though. I recently tried drawing Xiaolin Showdown's Omi, and he seemed a bit over his normal height.

The picture isn't all bad though, loads of detail and I wouldn't expect anything less from you.
